Description

The site of the former monastic grange of Barlings Abbey was surveyed and recorded by the Royal Commission. The principal archaeological remains are the medieval building fragments encapsulated in the present farmhouse, although some earthworks also survive around the farmstead. These earthworks are principally comprised of a broad low bank orientated north to south, to the west of the farmhouse, with other slight traces around. {1}
