Article detailing the considerable processing and analysis of Environment Agency LiDAR data, conducted to assess its potential for topographical mapping and the identification of archaeological sites across an extensive area of Lincolnshire. Initially looking at just the Witham Valley area, further tranches of data gradually extended coverage to the whole of the Lincolnshire Fenland, with this paper describing the full project area. The project resulted in an extensive GIS layer of the processed LiDAR data for the study area (see SLI19149), and succeeded in highlighting the potential that further detailed study of the LiDAR plots could bring.
