Archive for the excavation of seven trial trenches, dug to inform proposed residential development on land at Middlegate, Kirton (the site is actually in Frampton parish, however). The trenches were targeted to investigate a number of geophysical anomalies recorded by a prior magnetometry survey (see ELI13263). The remains of a single probable field boundary ditch or drain of late 19th or early 20th century origin was identified, but no features or finds of archaeological significance were encountered.
