Seven trial trenches were excavated to inform proposed residential development on land at Middlegate, Kirton (the site is actually in Frampton parish, however). The trenches were targeted to investigate a number of geophysical anomalies recorded by a prior magnetometry survey (see ELI13263). The remains of a single probable field boundary ditch or drain of late 19th or early 20th century origin was identified, but no features or finds of archaeological significance were encountered. {1}{2}
