Full Description

Former public house, dating from the early 18th century. Altered in the 19th and 20th centuries and now in use as a farmhouse and barn. The house is constructed of ashlar stone, whilst the attached barn is of coursed limestone rubble with ashlar quoins. Both parts have pantile roofs with stone-coped gables, and there are two gable and single ridge chimney stacks of ashlar stone, partly rebuilt in brick. The house is of two storeys, and has a four-bay front with off-centre 20th century door. To the left hand end is the inscription 'The Black Bull', which is also repeated on the gable. The slightly taller and projecting attached barn to the right has a single half-glazed door with timber lintel. The roof has been replaced in the 20th century. The interior of the house retains a chamfered arched bressumer to the fireplace, and some shutters.
