Full Description

An assemblage of Prehistoric worked flints was recovered from mostly residual contexts during an archaeological excavation on land at the Spittlegate junction of the A1 in 2016. The assemblage comprised material dating from the Upper Palaeolithic to the Bronze Age, primarily flakes and blade cores, but also several blades, a burin, and a number of scrapers. A Green-type 4C leaf-shaped arrowhead of Early Neolithic date was also recovered. {1}{2}
