Full Description
Part of a field system and a scattered group of waste pits of Iron Age date were encountered during an excavation on this site in January-April 2018. Bronze Age pottery was recovered from the lower fills of a number of the ditches, suggesting a possible continuity of use from this period (see MLI128086). A large quantity of shell gritted pottery was recovered including 428 fragments from 126 vessels recovered from a single waste pit, which also contained a small quantity of charred barley and wheat grains. {1}{2}
