A possible Saxon ditch identified in two trenches in the southeast of a site subject to geophysical survey {1} and excavation {2}{3} in advance of a proposed quarry at Skillingham, Colsterworth. The ditches also contained animal bone which may relate to earlier periods (MLI127770), although a small quanity of pottery found dated to AD 450-650, along with less identifiable pottery may indicate early medieval activity on the site.
