Description

A scheme of trial trenching was undertaken between August and September 2017 in advance of a proposed quarry at Skillington, Colsterworth. Remains were identified of Iron Age and Roman date, representing the margins of a settlement complex. A small quantity of Anglo-Saxon material was also recorded. {1}{2} The scheme followed an earlier geophysical survey (ELI14679) and a desk based assesment (ELI14678).
