A magnetic gradiometer survey was conducted to inform proposed residential development on land at Mill Lane, Woodhall Spa. Several isolated magnetic disturbances thought to have been caused by modern agricultural activity were recorded across the site but no anomalies thought to relate to significant archaeological activity were identified. {1} Subsequent trial trenching on the site confirmed the recorded magnetic anomalies as being either modern disturbance or variations in the geology (see ELI13579). Aside from a ditch of likely mid 18th century date and an undated curvilinear ditch, no archaeologically significant features, deposits or finds were encountered.
