Description

BOSTON TF3243NE SOUTH STREET 716-1/10/171 (East side) 28/11/74 Nos.20 AND 22 (Formerly Listed as: SOUTH STREET (East side) No.20) (Formerly Listed as: SOUTH STREET (East side) Nos.22 AND 22A) GV II Includes: No.1 SPAIN LANE. Pair of houses now a shop. C17, altered C18 and C19. Painted brick, some render, plain tiled roof with coped gable to left. L-plan. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys, 4-bay front arranged 2:2 with rusticated stucco quoins to left to ground floor only. Moulded wooden eaves cornice. To ground floor 2 C19 shop fronts with narrow pilasters, fascia and cornice, that to the left with 4-lights, the other with 3. Above 2 C20 nameboards. Above 4 glazing bar openings, those to the left being fixed lights, to the right sash windows. In the gable end a C19 glazed doorway and canted bay shop window. Above a glazing bar fixed light with segmental head. Lower range to rear, on Spain Lane has 1st floor band. To right a blocked doorway and to left a tripartite glazing bar sash with segmental head and shutters. Further left a small access doorway. Above a further tripartite sash and glazing bar sash to right. INTERIOR: retains turned baluster stair. Listing NGR: TF3284143916
