Archive for a programme of trial trenching comprising nine trial trenches excavated on land to the south of 101 Witham Road, Woodhall Spa, to inform a proposed residential development. A large pit was encountered, correlating to sand extraction pits depicted on historic mapping. Several 19th or 20th century waste pits and drainage ditches were also noted. No other archaeological features, deposits or finds were encountered.
