Report on a magnetometry survey, conducted to inform the proposed construction of new football training facilities on land off Heath Lane, Scampton (in Welton parish). The majority of the magnetic anomalies recorded by the survey were thought to clearly reflect modern cultivation trends or natural geological variation. It was thought possible that a small number of linear and curvilinear features at the southern end of the site may however represent possible linear ditches or former enclosures. Subsequent trial trenching in this area resolved the possible archaeological features at the southern end of the site as further natural geological variation (see ELI13792).
