Archive for the excavation of six trial trenches, dug to inform proposed residential development on land off Rookery Lane, Lincoln. The trenches were targeted to investigate a number of geophysical anomalies recorded by a prior magnetometry survey (see ELI13788), and confirmed the presence of large quantities of modern waste on the site. It resolved a large magnetic anomaly identified towards the south-eastern corner of the site as a spread of modern made-ground, and no archaeologically significant features, deposits or finds were encountered.
