Abstract/Summary
Report on a magnetometry survey, conducted to inform proposed residential development on land off Rookery Lane, Lincoln. Approximately only half of the site could be surveyed due to overgrown vegetation, with a large amount of magnetic noise caused by modern waste being recorded across much of the area. A large magnetic anomaly identified towards the south-eastern corner of the site may be the remains of former industrial activity such as a kiln, although a modern origin for the feature was also thought possible.
Subsequent trial trenching in this area resolved the large magnetic anomaly as a spread of modern made-ground (see ELI13789).
