Full Description

PRN 25681 The Baptist chapel is indicated on the 1904 OS County Series map and is included in the entry for the settlement of Gedney Broadgate PRN 20463. It was built in 1839 for a branch of the Fleet Society and was extended to the rear, and a three-bay gabled front was added, in 1868. It is still marked as a chapel on the OS 1:10000 map. The chapel is now derelict and overgrown. The roof has gone, and the elevations are fragmentary, but it can be seen that it was built of red brick with yellow and blue brick dressings. There are two courses of blue brick in the gable verges with dentil gault brick between. There are also remains of a round-arched window with a chamfered, or hollow moulded, arch in the gable elevation with the remains of a string course of blue and yellow brick above. {1}{2}{3}{4}{5}{6}{7}
