Full Description

Early 18th century house, possibly incorporating older farbric, with early 19th and 20th century alterations and with attached stables and cottage to the rear. Built of red brick, with limestone ashlar dressings, and features a plain tiled roof with brick coped gables, moulded wooden eaves, and single ridge and gable chimney stacks. The building is laid to an L-shaped plan form, and is of two storeys with attic, with an eight-bay front with first florr band. The doorway is slightly to right of centre, and has ashlar half columns with foliate capitals, a pediment with semi-circular lower opening, traceried fanlight, panelled reveals and panelled door. The interior includes an early 18th century staircase and at least one room has its original panelling. The stable with accommodation above and cottage beyond is in the north range to the rear. It is built of colourwashed brick, and features a pantile roof with two ridge stacks.
