Full Description

A magnetometry survey was undertaken in 2006 along the proposed route of the Lincoln Eastern Bypass (Route A). A series of linear anomalies identified during the survey are of possible archaeological interest and may represent former field divisions, ditches, a large enclosure or field boundaries. The possible features are currently undated. {1}{2} Another magentometry survey was undertaken at the same time along Route B. This revealed three linear ditches running approximately northwest to southeast in this area at 65447a. The features may form part of a field system. Another complex of possible ditches was identified during this survey located around a possible kiln structure [PRN 65452]. {3} Trial trenching was undertaken by Archaeological Project Services in 2008 along the proposed route of the Lincoln Eastern Bypass. An undated oval feature containing burnt animal bone was found. {4}{5}
