Mid 19th century milepost at Bicker Road, Swineshead. It is made of cast-iron, and is triangular in plan with a square base. It is inscribed with the makers name 'HOWDEN & SON, BOSTON, 1835' in the top panel, 'SLEAFORD 13 MILES' and 'HOLBEACH 13 MILES' in the respective side panels, and 'SWINESHEAD' at the base. It was found to be in a relatively good condition at that time, with only limited signs of rust. {5}
