Full Description

There is a reference to a possible priory having existed somewhere in North Hykeham in the 15th century. The reference is in the Patent Roll of Edward IV, under the year 1462, where the alien 'priory, manor or lordship of Ikham' was granted to the college called 'God's House' at Cambridge'. The revenue of this site was then said to be not more than 100s yearly. It is not clear to what foreign house this site had belonged, where the site was located, and indeed whether this was a priory, manor or grange site. {1}
