Full Description

Former rectory at North Coates, now in use as a private residence. The central core of the building appears to be the oldest part, being of two storeys and constructed of red brick with a slate roof. The building was essentially doubled in size with the construction of an extension to the south-west. This extension was also of two storeys and roofed with slate, and built of what appears to be rendered brick. Further, more recent extensions are to the north-east of the central part. There are documentary references to a ruinous rectory building at North Coates being repaired or rebuilt in 1720, and it is possible that the oldest part of the current building dates to that time. {1}{2}{3}{4}
