Full Description
An unusual site on a very clayey roddon (former River Welland). Finds include sherds of Romano-British pottery, fired clay and some animal bone. The briquetage is of unusual character and may predate use of the site by the Romans. The site is located on a roddon in an isolated position well away from general distribution of Roman or Iron Age sites. A trial trench was dug to determine whether intact features and organic remains were present. A ditch was identified and soil samples were taken. {1}
