Full Description

A group of rather irregular settlements and industrial sites associated with droves. Pottery show the main occupation to be late C2-early C3rd. {1} Cates Cove Corner - industrial site, much briquetage found. Largely irregular enclosures to the south and east of drove.{5} FINDS AT TF304139 (BRIQUETAGE, BONE) AND TF29821391 (POTTERY, BONE), AND TF30201395 (POTTERY). {2}{4}{5}{6} ALSO AT TF 29801395 - A PLOUGHED-OUT CIRCULAR HILLOCK CONSISTING OF RED POROUS BAKED CLAY, TF29881381 - CONSIDERABLE SALTERN DEBRIS OVER EASTERN FLANKS OF HILLOCKS, TF29661389, TF29641393 - POTTERY, SALTERN DEBRIS ETC. {2}
