Full Description

Cropmarks of two sub-rectangular enclosures are visible on aerial photographs taken in June 1999, of this area to the south of Stapleford Wood. The features also show on the Google Earth satellite imagery layer for July 2018, with each measuring roughly 13m by 12m, set along a north to south axis. The features were thought to be of possible Iron Age or Roman date, with the southernmost enclsoure appearing to straddle the county boundary between Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire. Other features may also be present in this area, though a considerable number of cropmarks caused by geological variation are also present, making identification difficult. {1}{2}
