Full Description
A possible earthwork holloway or two ditch runs were recorded during an earthwork survey west of Main Road, Covenham St Mary. The ditches run broadly parallel to each other on an approximate northeast to southwest orientation. {1}{2}
Excavations on the site down to a depth of 2m found only modern deposits suggestive of levelling. {3}{4}
The exact nature of the features is therefore uncertain, although they may relate to features visible in the NMP as earthworks or cropmarks which extend throughout Covenham St Mary as surviving remnamts of the medieval settlement. {5}
