Full Description

Pumping station at Short Ferry, thought to date from the 1970s. The station was built to control the movement of water from the Barlings Eau (to the east), to the River Witham (to the west). The building is rectangular in plan and is constructed of yellow brick, with large glass windows on the front (western) elevation. Minor alterations were made to the building in 2018 when the windows were replaced, and solar panels wereadded to the roof. Plans of the building show the pumping machinery extending underneath the building and out towards the Barlings Eau. {1}{2}
