Full Description

Former large, concrete structure used to house a Second World War coast artillery searchlight. Formed part of the Gibraltar Point Coastal Defence Battery (see MLI43285), and used to inspect suspect merchant ships approaching the Lincolnshire coast. The structure would have been roughly square shaped with a hexagonal front facing the sea. It was demolished in the early 1950s, and only the concrete base is thought to survive, marking its former location in the East Dunes. {1}{2}
