Description
A programme of archaeological field walking was conducted by Mark Nixon and two friends as part of an archaeological survey of Quarrington. The field known as Bullock Pasture, to the sout-east of Quarrington, was the targetted location. Brick and pottery were the main finds recovered, most probably of recent date. However, one sherd of Iron Age shelly ware, one greyware sherd and a medieval sherd were also recovered. Oyster shells and clay pipe fragments were also recovered. There were no significant concentrations, and most of this material is probably the result of manuring or other rubbish disposal. {1}
