A programme of archaeological monitoring and recording was conducted on groundworks for the conversion of a former healthcare facility to residential use and the construction of new residential properties at Orchard House, Holbeach. The site was considered to be archaeologically sensitive as the location of the former Holbeach Union Workhouse. Layers of alluvial silts, demolition deposits and levelling layers were observed in the service trenches, but no archaeologically significant features, deposits or finds were encountered. {1}{2}
