Description

A geophysical magnetometry survey was undertaken by Pre-Construct Geophysics in March 2017 on the site of a propsed quarry at Skillington, Colsterworth. The survey recorded an area of probable later prehistoric to Roman settlement around a palaeochannel, with a trackway possibly linking to a further area of occupation. {1} The geophysical survey was followed by trial trenching (ELI14680), which identified remains of Iron Age, Roman, and Early Medieval date.
