A detailed magnetic gradiometer survey was conducted to inform a proposed river improvement scheme to the River Witham, upstream of Colsterworth. Difficulties due to vegetation and topography prevented full survey being conducted across parts of the proposed scheme site. Strong magnetic disturbance thought to relate to natural ironstone and geological features were also recorded, with interpretation of the recorded magnetic anomalies therefore proving very difficult, and no clear archaeological features could be identified. {1}{2}
