Description

A magnetometry survey was conducted on land off Harding's Lane, Partney, to inform the proposed construction of a residential development. Anomalies identified as possible buried pits and ditches on a north northeast to south southwest alignment were encountered, as was possible ridge and furrow on the same alignment as the ditches. A recently removed L-shape field boundary was also noted. {1} Subsequent trial trenching (see ELI14254) revealed only a few archaeological features, mostly associated with the former gardens of the rectory to the north. No evidence of the north northeast to south southwest aligned ditches or ridge and furrow was encountered.
