A magnetometry survey was conducted on land to the southwest of Tattershall Road, Woodhall Spa, to inform a proposed residential development. Two distinct areas were surveyed. No anomalies were encountered that could confidently be classified as archaeological in origin, though an area of possible kilns or dumps of fired ceramic material was identified in the western area. Anomalies possibly correlating to post-Medieval clay extraction was also noted in the eastern area. {1} Subsequent trial trenching (see ELI14123) confirmed the presence of a group of pits containing late Medieval ceramic building material in the eastern area, though curiously no evidence of industrial activity was encountered in the western area.
