Description

A magnetometry survey was conducted on land at Toot Lane, Fishtoft, to inform future development on the site. Several weak positive anomalies were encountered across the site. These may represent ditches but were thought more likely to be the result of modern agricultural activity. A large area towards the south of the survey area contained many positive responses, which were interpreted as 'roddons', or infilled creeks. No other archaeologically significant features were identified. {1}{2} Subsequent archaeological evaluation (see ELI14091) encountered a possibly early-mid Saxon posthole, and a pit and gully terminus of late Medieval date. None of these features correlated with the anomalies identified in this survey.
