A programme of archaeological monitoring and recording was conducted during groundworks for the construction of a new access road and weighbridge complex at Ropsley Quarry. Most of the groundworks were relatively shallow, and did not extend beyond the subsoil layer. Only towards the northern end of the site were groundworks sufficiently deep to expose the remains of a probable natural former watercourse. No archaeologically significant features, deposits or finds were otherwise encountered. {1}{2}
