Eight trial trenches were excavated to inform the proposed construction of four poultry units and associated infrastructure on land at Ermine Street Farm, Ancaster. No archaeological features, deposits or finds were encountered. {1}{2} A magnetometry survey undertaken prior to the commencement of trial trenching indicated the possible presence of several linear features on the site (see ELI13947), though these could not be positively identified during this programme of trial trenching.
