A detailed magnetic gradiometer survey was conducted to inform the proposed construction of a new wind farm on land at Nocton Fen. A number of relatively recent former field boundaries were recorded, along with areas of geological variation and modern disturbance. Whilst no features of clear archaeological origin were identified, a number of discrete magnetic anomalies were recorded in several parts of the site. It could not be determined whether these anomalies were of natural or human origin, however. {1} A desk based assessment of the proposed development site was completed prior to the commencement of the geophysical survey (see SLI16462).
