Description

An archaeological watching brief was conducted during construction work for the upgrading of the River Witham's tidal defences at Boston. Deposits of 19th century made ground overlying natural river silts were noted, but no archaeologically significant features, deposits or finds were encountered. This would suggest that the original medieval waterfront lay further inland, to the east of the present day bank. {1}
