A magnetometry survey was conducted to inform proposed residential development on land off Tattershall Road, Woodhall Spa. Magnetic anomalies clearly associated with modern field drains and services were recorded, but no archaeological features were identified. {1}{2} Subsequent trial trenching in this area recorded the presence of a number of ditches and pits, and the remains of stone wall foundations, all of which were not identified during the geophysical survey, indicating that ground conditions in this area were not conducive to this type of investigation (see ELI12772).
