A fluxgate gradiometer survey was conducted to inform proposed residential development on land off Banovallum Gardens, Horncastle. Magnetic anomalies thought to reflect modern disturbance and former field boundaries and drains were the only features identified. {1} Subsequent trial trenching in this area recorded the presence of several undated ditches that were not identified during the geophysical survey, indicating that ground conditions in this area were not conducive to this type of investigation (see ELI12525).
