Description

A fluxgate gradiometer survey was undertaken to inform proposed horticultural development on land at Black House Farm, Pode Hole, Spalding. A small number of discrete magnetic anomalies were identified, possibly representing the remains of pits and ditches of uncertain date. A number of palaeoenvironmental features, including the remains of tidal channels, creeks and pools, were also identified, along with a large number of modern land drains. {1} Subsequent trial trenching in this location found that all of the anomalies were of modern or natural origin (see ELI12269).
