Description

A scheme of archaeological monitoring and recording was conducted during the machine excavation of eight trial pits at Wainfleet All Saints. The trial pits were dug to inform proposed improvements of the existing flood banks for the River Steeping. No archaeological activity was recorded, although peat deposits were identified in a number of the trial pits, indicating the potential for archaeological remains in this area. {1}{2}
