Full Description

The mill building is of two floors on a rectangular plan with a single storey wheelhouse extention at the north end. The building is predominatly of coursed rubble with a pantile roof. It dates from the early 19th century and it is purported that it last worked in 1935. For the full description and the legal address of this listed building please refer to the appropriate List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest. {1}{2} There is a very unusual concentration of surviving mill buildings on this short stretch of Scopwick Beck. The reason for this is that the limestone Lincolnshire Heath has no surface water, but Scopwick lies on the spring line at a point where the water flow was particularly strong. {3}
